The reason, I chose Washington: A Legacy of Leadership by Paul Vickery and Stephen Mansfield was for the most part because I felt that although I knew some about Washington as leader, I know very little about Washington the man.
Throughout the book, there are many lesser-known facts about Washington’s life based much of the book on original sources such as Washington’s own letters. He has seemingly viewed Washingtons life, in mostly in a positive light but didn't forget to offer of the mistakes he'd made in life as well!
Another point, that makes this book very interesting is the presence of a large number of pictures and illustrations depicting various events from Washington’s life and America’s history.
If you are a history buff or a biography lover, you will no doubt love this book, but if not, be prepared for a long read.
